The four volumes in this collection--two in one box, one in another, and one not yet encapsulated--contains entries on transfers of lots from one owner to another. The books are sectioned by alphabetical cut-out tabs, so that entries are alphabetical by the first letter only of the surname of the original owner, and then ordered by date. They cover transfers made from the 1840s through the late 1880s.
The information on each entry includes the date, lot number, section, name of original owner, size of lot, portion of lot that was transferred, name of the person transferred to. The Transfer Lot Registry in Box 1 also includes some lot diagrams that illustrate the division of the lot if it wasn’t transferred as a whole unit. The amount of information provided for each entry varies by volume.
Due to their age, all four volumes are delicate. The bindings, in particular, are quite deteriorated. All should be handled with care.
