The Perpetual Care Receipts are records of the respective estates of the owners of burial plots at Green-Wood Cemetery for the express purpose of perpetual care and maintenance of these plots.
The information on each of these receipts includes how the trust fund was set up, the name of the estate, the amount of money that was allocated for the trust and the lot number of the burial plot. These receipts are arranged in numerical order according to their respective account numbers.
Each of these receipts specify the how the money is to be allocated in the trust frund for the care of the lot. Some receipts specify particular types of maintenance work that is to be done for the perpetual care of the plot such as the cleaning of the stone work and the maintenance of the landscaping on the burial site.
