The Ivy Removal Photographs series is comprised of black-and-white snapshots taken of lots in Green-Wood Cemetery which illustrate the maintenance and/or removal of plant life that had recently been performed. Each photograph is stamped with a date and a brief description of what type of maintenance has been done to the lot’s plants. Additional handwritten notes record the lot number, its location, and, in many cases, the name of the lot owner and additional information regarding the lot.
For further information on greenery maintenance and removal work performed from 1963-1965, please see the Ivy Removal Index Cards series.
For more reference photographs of cemetery lots during the same time period, please see the Boundary Marker Photographs series.
